BC Stats Library Access Site — Up-to-date business and economic indicators such as the Consumer Price Index, Earnings & Employment Trends, Small Business Quarterly, etc.

Canadian Legal Education Society of BC — Family Law Sourcebook, Family Law Practice manual, plus many more. Must use in library and requires login. Please see the Information Desk at any Surrey Library for help.

CANSIM — Statistics Canada's key socioeconomic database. Updated daily, CANSIM provides fast and easy access to a large range of the latest statistics available in Canada.

Martin's Online Criminal Code — Legal research tool that provides access to the Criminal Code along with corresponding commentary. Browse through previous versions of Martin's Annual Criminal Code, or search for a particular section or subsection at a specific date. Available in library only at all Surrey Libraries branches. 

Vehicle Safety & Inspection Standards Online — BC bulletins, fact sheets, laws and inspection manuals relating to vehicle safety. Available in library only at all Surrey Libraries branches.


BC Laws
From the Queen’s Printer BC, BC Laws provides free access to all provincial Statutes and Regulations, Bills, regulation bulletins, and debates of the Legislative Assembly (Hansard).

CanLII – The Canadian Legal Information Institute
Provides access to court judgments, tribunal decisions, statutes and regulations from all Canadian jurisdictions.

Legal information and referral services for British Columbians. Contains articles and guides on common legal problems, lists legal advocacy agencies and services in the province. HelpMap function allows quick searching of resources in the Surrey area.

Court Services
BC’s electronic court registry. View Provincial and Supreme civil court files, access daily court lists.

Courthouse Libraries
Offers training and tutorials on legal research through their website and at various locations around the province. Lawyers and the public can contact the Courthouse Libraries in person, over the phone or by email to get help with their legal research. In addition to their main branch in downtown Vancouver, there is a Surrey location that offers access to legal materials in print and by online subscription.

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Line
Information and advice telephone support line for grandparents and other relatives raising a family member's child.

Justice Education Society
Provides programs and information resources to improve access to our provincial justice system. Features a legal dictionary, and resources divided by legal category.

Legal Services – Low Cost and Free
A pamphlet written and maintained by Surrey Libraries, it contains various legal aid resources in the Lower Mainland. Free print copies are also available at any Surrey Libraries branch.

Lawyer Referral Service
Telephone service that provides the name of an eligible lawyer in BC that specializes in the area of law you need help with.

Legal Services Society
The Legal Services Society is an organization that provides legal aid in British Columbia. Their site features many great legal self-help guides, fact sheets and court forms. Provides information in several languages. Visit their Who Can Help section to help guide you in finding organizations or individuals to help solve your legal problem.
