Join us to watch Emergence: out of the Shadows. This documentary follows the coming-out stories of Alex, Jag, and Kayden. They are three local gay and lesbian South Asians. The film explores their journey and how their parents responded within the structures of Punjabi Sikh cultural norms.

The pain, humour, and hope depicted in their stories have a simple message – that love is love and nothing is as liberating as being true to yourself. Visually beautiful, this film is an understated but powerful platform to move forward a cause and celebrate humanity in all its diversity.

After the screening, there will be a panel discussion with Alex, his mom Jaspal, Jag, and Vinay, the film's director.
