Creating a Kanopy Account

Before enjoying Kanopy you need to quickly set up an account.

  1. Log in using the 'I Consent' button below and entering your library card.
  2. Click 'Watch Now'
  3. Add your Surrey library card.
  4. Create an account. (We suggest avoiding using Google or Facebook.)
  5. You will now be sent an email to verify your email address. Click on the orange 'Verify Email' button.
  6. Enjoy!

Installing Kanopy Apps

There are apps available for a variety of platforms including Android, iOS, Apple TV, Roku, FireTV. 

  1. Install the App
  2. Follow prompts on the App to create an account, if you have not already created one via website

Please be aware that any information collected about you will be stored and/or accessed outside of Canada through the Kanopy service provider site over which the City has no control and which is governed by the terms and conditions of the service provider. By registering, you are acknowledging and consenting to the handling of your personal information outside of Canada where the privacy requirements will be different than the requirements of privacy legislation in BC. Please be aware that occasionally Kaopy may include third party links that may have independent privacy policies.

Please be aware that parents/legal guardians are responsible for their children's use of Kanopy service. 

While individuals under the age of 19 may utilize the Kanopy service, access to material restricted in Canada may be done only with the involvement, supervision, and approval of a parent or legal guardian.
