Publishing Your Memoir or Family History

Tuesday, February 13 2024, 10:30am–12pm
Ocean Park Branch

Do you want to publish your writing but are not sure where to start?

Who is your audience? What tools and skills do you need? Do you need an editor? Do you need an ISBN? What is a bleed? Copyright? Do you need to worry about libel? Is a book the best medium for your story or should it be a video or a podcast?

There are a myriad of ways to share your story or family history. Learn how to define your audience and package your story for that audience. Join us for an overview of publishing options, terminology, and what you need to know to get started.

Presented by Andrea Lister. Andrea is the principal of Absolutely Literate, specializing in editing, research, writing and design. She is a former editor of British Columbia History magazine.
