Surrey Libraries Launches Climate Change Action Workshops
Surrey, BC – Surrey Libraries is launching two community workshops about how individuals can take action and fight climate change. These free workshops are starting in February and April.
At the first workshop, “Climate Conversations,” people can connect, talk about climate change, and share ideas on how to make a difference. Participants can register or drop in to the workshop on February 21 at 6:30 pm at City Centre branch and then every second Wednesday of the month until November.
The second workshop, “Climate Solutions 101,” is a series of 5 sessions run in partnership with RegenerateBC. Starting on Monday, April 29 at Semiahmoo branch, this workshop series is part of the City of Surrey’s Environmental Extravaganza. Each session will show participants how they can support climate change solutions in their community.
“We believe Surrey Libraries has an important role to play in responding to the climate emergency,” said Kelly Lau, Sustainability Coordinator at Surrey Libraries. “Our goal is to support and motivate our community by providing opportunities for everyone to take action in meaningful ways without feeling intimidated.”
