Every day, Surrey Libraries helps people discover something new, connect with their community, and feel inspired by our programs and services. The library is a community hub where everyone is welcome and included.
We raise funds to enhance our services to the community. Many early literacy programs we offer would not be possible without additional support. And we use our funds wisely – for every dollar Surrey Libraries receives, it provides more than $5 in value back to the community.
Our programs and funds
All areas of the library benefit from donations, but you can choose to designate your donation to something special. Following are some programs and funds to consider supporting.
Tomorrow’s Readers – Literacy for Life
Your donations ensure Surrey Libraries continues to deliver award-winning programming and services throughout our library system.
Accessibility Services
Accessibility Services provide home delivery to eligible patrons, specialized collections for print disabilities, assistive technology, and a range of other services.
Read to Baby
The Read to Baby program is a family literacy initiative aimed to encourage new parents to read to their babies.
Gayle Harris Memorial Education Fund
Gayle Harris was a beloved Surrey Libraries Youth Services Librarian. Gayle’s mother, Barbara E. Harris, established this fund to honour Gayle’s memory.
The fund generates annual education grants for Surrey Libraries staff who are studying to become librarians. In years when there may not be any eligible staff for the grant, the funding is directed to enhance the Library’s children’s collection.
Endowment Fund
Surrey Libraries has a permanent endowment fund housed at Surrey Cares Community Foundation. The endowment fund generates annual funding used to enhance library services to the community.
Make a Donation
Give a one-time donation, or become a monthly donor. All donations are eligible for a charitable tax receipt in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines.
Give an In Memoriam Gift
Create a legacy, and honour someone who has made a difference in your life with an In Memoriam gift.
