Track your study time and enter to win prizes!
Do you use the Library as a study space? If so, ask staff for a Studython card to track your study time. Return completed forms to the service desk at a participating branch for a contest entry. You could win a $20 gift card! You can also tell us what you think about Surrey Libraries.
Participating branches: City Centre, Guildford, Newton, Semiahmoo, and Strawberry Hill.
For ages 14+. One entry per student.
Here's how it works:
- Pick up a Studython card at a participating branch starting Nov 1, 2024.
- Fill in each circle for every 20 minutes that you study in the Library. Keep your Studython card with you!
- You have the month of November to study a total of 5 hours in the library.
- On the back of the card, tell us what you think of Surrey Libraries.
- Return a completed card to the service desk at a participating branch by Nov 30, 2024 to receive a contest entry form.
- Fill out the entry form for a chance to win a $20 gift card. One entry per person.
Surrey Public Library Studython Random Draw Contest Official Rules
1) Entry Period
- The Contest begins at 9am November 1 and ends at 5pm on November 30, 2024.
2) Eligibility
- Winners must be of 14 years of age or older.
- Surrey Public Library and City of Surrey employees and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter the contest.
- Winner must have filled in the circles in the Studython Study Tracking form.
3) How to Enter
- Studython Study Tracking forms are available at participating branches (City Centre, Guildford, Newton, Semiahmoo, and Strawberry Hill), starting November 1.
- Contest entrants must fill in the circles in the Studython Study Tracking form.
- Each circle represents twenty minutes of time spent studying at a library branch. 15 circles filled equals 5 hours of studying at a library branch.
- Completed Studython Study Tracking forms will be exchanged at a designated service desk for a contest entry form.
- One contest entry is allowed per person during the contest period.
4) Intellectual Property
- Upon submission of your entry to the Contest, you irrevocably grant to Surrey Public Library the non‐exclusive, perpetual, royalty‐free, no‐cost license and right to use your entry in any medium including streaming media, film, television, print, interactive devices, mobile media, Internet and online systems, and digital billboards.
- Surrey Public Library has the right to use your contest entry in any merchandising, advertising, marketing, or promotion. You agree that Surrey Public Library shall have the discretion in determining the extent and manner of use of entries and is not obligated to use any entry.
- You understand that all entries that are posted on the Surrey Libraries website and related social media may be available to be viewed by anyone with access to the Internet.
5) Winners and Odds
- Winning entries will be drawn randomly from all eligible entries received.
- There are one prize of a $20 gift card per branch.
- Winners will be notified by the phone number provided when they entered the contest.
- The odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received.
- The Prize must be accepted as awarded and is non-transferable. No substitution of the Prize is permitted. The Prize cannot be returned for a cash refund.
6) Terms and Conditions
- By participating, you agree to
- a) abide by the Official Rules and the decisions of Surrey Public Library, which shall be final in all respects;
- b) release, discharge and hold harmless the Surrey Public Library from all liability, claims or damages, arising out of your participation in the Contest and the acceptance, use or misuse of a prize;
- Surrey Public Library reserves the right to cancel or suspend this Contest and cancel or refuse any entry.
7) Privacy
- Surrey Public Library adheres to both federal and provincial privacy legislation. Surrey Libraries is authorized to collect personal information under the authority of the Library Act and section 26(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Personal information is collected for the purposes of Library services promotion and contacting prize winners. - Any personal information collected during this Contest will not be shared with third parties except as described in these Official Rules.
8) Governing Law
- These Official Contest Rules are subject to the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable laws of Canada.
