Safety Measures at Surrey Libraries

Surrey Libraries is working to keep everyone safe at our branches.

We are continuing to follow all provincial health orders and WorkSafeBC guidelines to help protect our patrons and staff:

  • Do not enter the branch if you feel unwell or are required to self-isolate
  • Masks are optional

Thank you for your continued patience and support as we face this pandemic together.

Safety Measures 

What we’re doing 

  • Following all Provincial Health Orders
  • Providing hand sanitizer  
  • Plexiglass dividers at service counters 
  • Frequently cleaning high-touch areas 
  • Training Library staff in safety measures

What you can do

  • Stay home if you are feeling sick or are required to self-isolate 
  • Consider wearing a mask in the library
  • Wash or sanitize your hands before entering the building 
  • Follow all signs 
  • Always remain with your children when in the library

  • Book returns (only during open hours at Clayton)
  • Computer access
  • Wi-Fi 
  • Browsing shelves to select materials
  • Newspapers and magazines
  • Printing and photocopying
  • Scanning (All locations except the Ocean Park and Port Kells branches)
  • Self-checkout stations  
  • Paton assistance and technology help
  • Washroom access  
  • Book sales at some locations
  • If you do not wish to enter the library and would still like to borrow material, please call your local branch to discuss your options. 
  • Group tours (pre-registration required)
  • Group and silent study rooms
  • In-person programming
  • Meeting room rentals (not yet available at all locations)
