A time to practice reading together, for kid readers and teen volunteers.

Coast Capital Savings Reading Buddies is a time to practice reading together. Children are paired with a teen volunteer who will spend time reading together in a safe, supportive environment.

Reading Buddies happens twice a year, in the spring and fall.

Children (Readers)

Reluctant readers in grades 2-4 can practice reading in a safe, supportive environment. Children are paired with a "big buddy" teen volunteer to spend time reading together. The Coast Capital Savings Reading Buddies Program is not designed to teach children how to read.

How to Apply:

Parents can fill out a paper application and hand it into the Youth Services Librarian at the desired location. Applications are handled on a first come first serve basis. You are not guaranteed a spot in the program, as spaces are limited. You will be contacted if selected for the program.
