World War 1 attestation papers are comprehensive records completed by soldiers registering for service. They contain a wealth of valuable information for family historians. These are searchable by name through Ancestry, available at the Cloverdale Library, and on FamilySearch.org.
See Section 9 of the library’s Canadian Family History Resources: A Guide to the Materials Held at Cloverdale ;Library which describes Canadian military records on microfilm available at the library. Our microfilm covers topics such as United Empire Loyalists, the Fenian Raids, the War of 1812 and more.
When searching for military print items use keywords such as “SOLDIERS- CANADA”, “SOLDIERS-CANADA-INDEXES”, or “SOLDIER – ONTARIO-REGISTERS”.
