Surrey Libraries is an innovative and award-winning 10 branch library system. We offer a variety of items for borrowing, programs, and information services to the community. Our website allows people of all ages and backgrounds to explore interests, indulge curiosity, and find great reads. We have resources to help our community learn. These include books, computers, and online resources. We also have special materials about family history and collections in many languages.
Our library system is always growing. Through outreach and agency partnerships we respond creatively to our active and diverse community of over 600,000. Everyone is welcome in our libraries.

We look for people with strong customer service and communication skills and people who are personable, hardworking, and eager to learn and contribute to a great team. Applicants must be able to travel and work within all branches during open hours, seven days a week including evenings, weekends, holidays and on short notice. Besides excellent command of English, communication in another language is an asset.
Punjabi, Mandarin, Hindi, Korean, and Farsi are in demand.

Clerks sort and shelve materials and keep the library tidy and organized. Clerks help with program or display setup and takedown. Clerks typically work part-time hours at one to two locations.
Assistants check library materials in and out, sort and file materials, handle accounts, payments and new registrations. They also answer general inquiries, assist with technology, and promote services.
Technicians provide information services, technology help, and assist in the planning and presentation of programs, library tours and community outreach.
