Church Records - Ontario
As with vital statistics records, churches may limit access to their parish registers based on an individual’s privacy. The Archives of Ontario has a list of over 60 Ontario churches whose records are kept in their archives.
Keep in mind that some religions performed baptisms only for adults, not children.
Check Archives of Ontario here for listings of various church denominations for records, as you may need to contact the churches/synods/repositories directly 6 with your query.
Microfilm
The Family History department has some Ontario Parish Records on microfilm. They are listed in the library’s guide, Canadian Family History Resources, on pages 5-26, and 5-27. We also have some donated church films from Perth, Ontario in our collection. They are labelled Z-20001 to Z-20005 and found in our microfilm cabinets.
